Tyler Caughie is a New York State licensed Master Social Worker. In therapy with Tyler, you can expect a supportive and non judgmental environment to explore topics and issues that are most important to you. Within this relationship, therapy has the potential to be transformational.
Theories and approaches that Tyler draws from include trauma informed care, person-centered care, mindfulness/meditation, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and somatic therapy. Tyler believes in the importance of humor, play, and creativity as an integral part of mental health and the therapeutic alliance.
As a social worker Tyler has worked in fields such as supportive housing, inpatient psychiatry, and mobile treatment in New York City, supporting individuals and families with diagnoses of serious mental illness, substance use, histories of incarceration, hospitalization, and homelessness. Tyler now works as a part time clinical social worker and therapist, providing remote psychotherapy services to clients based in New York State to support individuals dealing with a range of life challenges. In addition to working as a psychotherapist, Tyler works with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing wholistic programing in areas such as gardening, cooking, art, and job training.
